Robin Becker, Authorized Teacher of Continuum Movement, has an expansive history as a teacher, professional dancer, choreographer, and as founder and Artistic Director of Robin Becker Dance. She has a BA in Dance and a MA in Humanities. Robin began to study Continuum Movement in 1991 with Emilie Conrad and Susan Harper, and was selected to become an Authorized Teacher of Continuum Movement in 2001. Her work with individuals and groups weaves together her extensive training in classical and modern dance with her work as a practitioner of Mariel healing energy, and her experience with numerous exercise and mediation systems.

Robin’s personal practice of Continuum has provided her a path of exploration, as well as an affirmation of her understanding of the body as a teacher of possibility. In Continuum, she recognized a process by which her love of movement, science, and a spiritual path could synthesize. She has a unique capacity to work with people as they seek a deeper connection to life through their bodies.

She has served on the faculties of the American Ballet Theater, the Fiorello Laguardia High School of Performing Arts, the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies, the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, the Princeton Ballet Society, and is currently teaching at Hofstra University. Robin has led improvisation workshops with musician and actors at the Actors Studio in New York, and has taught graduate level classes at numerous universities across the country. She continues to offer workshops, classes, and private sessions in Continuum nationally and internationally.
